Welcome back to the Trying 2 Parent Podcast, Episode 56! Happy Merry New Years to all our listeners out there!
It’s been a shorter week post-Christmas, filled with some quirky adventures:
- The Christmas pie miracle quest? Let’s just say, it didn’t pan out as expected.
- Those windshield wipers we installed? Top-notch performance—definitely adulting at its finest!
- Discovered a delightful ice cream spot within walking distance—score!
- Football, house cleaning, and homemade guacamole—just another day of multitasking.
Egg nog dilemma alert—seems I missed out on that holiday staple this year. Major disappointment!
And hey, heads up, we're taking a break from video podcasts for a while. Apologies to our viewers—we’ll miss those visual connections!
The folks are set to arrive in town next Tuesday, adding more excitement to the mix.
Baby update: Amanda’s now at 39 weeks, and we’re assuming Keanu's imminent arrival!
- Tuesday's doctor appointment and another doula visit filled our week.
- Amanda’s started curb walking—sounds quirky but apparently has its perks!
Highlights of the week: A relaxing Christmas (despite the pie mishap), and some exciting financial prospects on the horizon. Lows: Feeling swamped, struggling to reach out to everyone as the year wraps up.
And of course, it's time for '90s trivia:
- States with cities having holiday-inspired names? Christmas, Florida; Santa Claus, Georgia; Mistletoe, Kentucky—festive much?
- Average American holiday spending? More than you'd think! Nearly $1,000, with gift cards ruling the gifting scene.
- In Home Alone, where are the McAllisters headed for vacation? Paris, oui oui!
- And the gift from the Little Drummer Boy to the newborn Christ? He played a song on his drums—music to our ears!
Stay tuned for more baby updates and throwback trivia next time on Trying 2 Parent!
