Welcome back to another exciting episode of the Trying 2 Parent Podcast! We're your hosts, Shawn and Amanda King, and we've got a lot to catch you up on.
First things first, we just returned from a fantastic trip to Hartwell, Georgia. We had the most incredible time hanging out with some very successful people in our business. The peaceful and beautiful lake scenery really got us thinking - we need a property on a lake, but maybe not an 11,000-square-foot house (although that would be pretty cool). Oh, and after driving the pontoon boat, we've added "boat" to our wishlist, too. That's a must-have now!
But, let's shift gears to baby talk. The due date is creeping closer, and it's becoming increasingly real. We've got a lot to do to prepare, and at this moment, it feels like if we had to have the baby, we wouldn't know where to begin! Any parenting tips are welcome.
Speaking of preparation, we've been exploring the doula situation. It's been a bit of a rough start finding one, but we're determined to get this right. What are your experiences with doulas, dear listeners? Share your insights with us!
In "We're Pregnant: The First-Time Dad's Pregnancy Handbook," we've reached week 29. Amanda's pregnancy is progressing, and you can actually see our little man moving around in there. It's an incredible sight. The pregnancy line at the grocery store, though? Not so fun.
In the "Highs" of the week, our trip was absolutely awesome. Spending time with people from our agency and learning from some of the best in the company was much needed.
The "Lows" of the week? Well, people requesting coverage these days can be quite the challenge. The quirks of this business, right?
In the "In the News" segment, Amanda discusses pregnancy rhinitis. That's something we never thought we'd have to consider!
And now, for our "Ask the Listeners" segment: We'd love to know if your baby arrived early or fashionably late. Share your experiences with us.
And finally, our "I Love the '90s" segment. Test your '90s knowledge with these questions:
- What was the TV show "The X-Files" about?
- Name one character from the famous '90s hit "Sex and the City."
- How many seasons did the show "Friends" run for?
- Name the four main characters from "South Park."
That's a wrap for this episode! Thanks for tuning in, and we'll catch you next time on the Trying 2 Parent Podcast!
